The S1 Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program is one of the leading study programs at the Faculty of Creative Industries – Telkom University, which was established in 1992, and has produced graduates who are active practitioners and reliable entrepreneurs in the field of fashion and textile crafts. The S1 Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program currently has twelve (12) lecturers and no less than 500 active students. Implementing the Higher Education Tridharma activities in the Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program is designed to produce graduates who can create innovative fashion and textile designs based on the development of ICT and Nusantara Culture. So that graduates of the Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program have a comprehensive ability to realize creative-innovative ideas in their scientific fields.

One main characteristic that distinguishes the Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program from the Craft Study Program in Indonesia is the use of ICT in the design and creation process. Craft as a process does not only focus on creating products that contain elements of tradition but is developed in a modern way with the use of ICT in the work process with the final achievement in the form of fashion products that elevate the cultural elements of the archipelago.

In 2018, the Textile and Fashion Craft S1 Study Program received an A accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education based on BAN-PT Decree No. 1866/SK/BANPT/Akred/S/VII/2018. Furthermore, in 2019, the Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program was ranked Premier University in international accreditation by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges, and Universities ASIC based on success in facilities management, security, human resources, teaching, and student welfare.

OBJECTIVE

  • Produce graduates who have creativepreneur competencies in the field of Textile Crafts and Fashion that accommodate the strengths of Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes holistically so that they have use-values ​​for the wider community;
  • Produce graduates who can take advantage of ICT developments in publishing the results of scientific implementation in the field of Textile Crafts and Fashion globally to be able to create new job opportunities in the creative industry;
  • Become a reference for the Tridharma activities of higher education in the fields of teaching, research, and community service and make the concept of a Digital Network to strengthen and expand cooperation networks with similar study programs both at home and abroad;
  • To become a center for the dissemination of scientific works in the field of Textile Crafts and Fashion and a reference for similar study programs at both national and international levels;
  • To become a center for developing creativepreneur activities in the field of Textile Crafts and Fashion by using digital marketing concepts to be used as models for similar programs in Indonesia.

A graduate profile is a role that graduates can perform in a particular field of expertise or work after completing their studies. The profile is determined based on a survey of the needs of the job market needed by the government and the business world, industry, and the need to develop science and technology. Based on the exposure to industrial and economic developments in Indonesia, long-term government and university development plans, and technological developments, conclude that the profile of graduates in the Textile and Fashion Craft Study Program is: Kriyawan, who can design innovative textiles based on culture, the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in producing fashion products.
